With spine and number facing outward, the CD is placed in the
storage rack -- We keep the numbers sequenced, so a new
addition to the rack, is simply placed in the next available slot.
     see Figure D.
For this system we use a 3-ring binder, filled with cheap, white, printing paper,
and page dividers (to separate pages/images into categories or themes)...

As each new image (or set of images) is added to our collection, we trim the
rubber, then stamp a copy of the image onto a corresponding category page
     of the binder.

A number is placed beside the image/set -- see Figure A.
NOTE:  To create a total reference guide, we also record the date the image
was acquired, the price we paid for it, and its company of origin, but
for storage purposes, this is unnecessary.

Using Unmounted Stamps Tutorial - Page 3 - Written by Susan M. Trask for smARTworks

Storing Unmounted Stamps --
Our trimmed images are stored in clear, numbered CD cases, and kept in regular, commercial
CD racks.  This method of storage plugs into an entire storage system which may seem complicated
at first, but works like a charm...

The image is placed in a regular CD case (the plastic insert has been
 removed). see Figure B.

The CD's "spine" is then labeled with the image's
assigned number (from the notebook). see Figure C.
